You will have the desire and motivation to lead and coordinate large teams of contractors and employees in this varied position. Working from our Head Office in Melbourne with interstate travel you will be customer focused and an adaptable and motivated individual.

Your role:

In this position, your focus will be to ensure the safety of employees via the maintenance and scheduling of safety services at our customer sites throughout Australia.

In this critical role you will coordinate a team and safety equipment. You will be exposed to a variety of safety products, including gas, breathing and height safety equipment.

Your tasks will include:

  • Ensure mobilisation, operation and demobilisation of Safety Service projects;
  • Undertake the maintenance, repair & testing of products and equipment;
  • Maintain accurate service records;
  • Deliver Draeger training courses to customers as required;
  • Coordination and optimisation of safety personnel about operating times and current demands; and
  • Provide written documentation of operating time, performance records, unusual events.

To meet the customer's requirements, you will be required to work from time to time on weekends and at nights.

Who you are:

You will have a strong work ethic, be proactive and happy to work on your own or in a dynamic team. Your excellent interpersonal skills and preferably experience working in refining, mine or chemical plant operation. Knowledge of OHS regulations will be highly regarded in addition to:

  • An educational background, a Trade certificate or demonstrated relevant experience in a similar environment;
  • Nationally certified accreditations in, but not limited to: working at heights, confined space entry, gas test atmospheres, rescue coordination and hygiene.
  • A Certificate IV Training & Assessment would be highly regarded.
  • Effective verbal and written communication;
  • Proficient in computer operation and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Current Drivers Licence;
  • Able to perform routine arithmetic calculations, have a complete understanding of pricing structures & gross margin;
  • Analysis & problem-solving skills;
  • Practical interpersonal skills; and
  • Experience working under pressure and organising work priorities to meet deadlines.

This permanent position of Rescue & Safety Technician is within the Rental & Safety Service department providing rental equipment and services to customers within the Asia/Pacific region.
